I was immediately drawn to its exotic charm and couldn’t wait to explore its pristine beaches and breathtaking landscapes.

In this article, I’ll take you on a journey through my experiences in Cape Verde, sharing all the must-see places and hidden treasures of this paradise. So sit back as we embark on an adventure of a lifetime to Cape Verde!

The Fascinating Story of Cape Verde’s History and Culture

Cape Verde is a beautiful island country that boasts of rich culture, heritage, and stunning beaches. From Sal to Boa Vista, Santiago to Maio, Cape Verde offers a unique experience that you won’t find anywhere else.

One of the most interesting aspects of Cape Verde is how the Portuguese colonized the islands and still have affiliations today. The Portuguese influence is evident in the language, food, music, and architecture of the islands.

Another fascinating fact is how Cape Verdeans are mixed with European and Cape Verde nationality, creating a unique blend of cultures. This mix of cultures is reflected in the music, which is a fusion of African and European styles.

The local currency is also pegged to the euro, making it a popular destination for European tourists.

Europeans Own Greater Share of Investment in Cape Verde

Europeans own a greater share of investment in the country, which is a testament to the country’s growing economy. Interestingly, more than 50% of the population lives outside the country, making remittance into Cape Verde high on the list of foreign exchange earnings just below tourism, which is top on the list.

The Cape Verdean government is making policies to open up the country to other investors from Africa with attractive incentives. With these new policies, the government hopes to attract more investors and create more jobs for the local people. These policies will also help to diversify the economy and reduce the country’s reliance on tourism.

With Cape Verde’s growing economy and favorable investment climate, now is the perfect time to invest in the country. So, if you’re looking to invest in a country with a bright future, Cape Verde should be at the top of your list!

My Experience at Cape Verde

Cape Verde is a hidden gem in West Africa that is quickly becoming a popular travel destination.

During my recent visit to Cape Verde, I had the pleasure of exploring the beautiful island of Sal, which is known for its stunning beaches, all-inclusive resorts, and friendly locals.

I was fortunate to stay at the luxurious Melia Lana resort, which is under the Melia portfolio and offers top-notch amenities and services. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed by the warm and friendly staff who made my stay unforgettable.

The resort’s all-inclusive offerings were impressive, with delicious food and drinks available throughout the day. Overall, my experience at Melia Lana and Sal Island was nothing short of amazing, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation.

Activities I Enjoyed in Cape Verde

I recently had the pleasure of exploring Sal and Sao Vincent Island in Cape Verde, and let me tell you, it was an adventure I won’t soon forget!

One of the most thrilling experiences I had was windsurfing in Sal. The conditions are ideal there, thanks to the strong trade winds, and I was able to ride the waves like a pro. If you’re planning on trying this sport, make sure to take a lesson or two first, as it can be quite challenging.

I also watched the world kitesurfing championship in Sal, which was an incredible event to witness. It was inspiring to see a Cape Verdean take home the trophy! If you’re looking for a more relaxed day out, then a day tour with Chan Salexeperience is a must.

They took me to different historical sites and unique places, including the fisherman village, Espagous, Palmeira, Buracona, also known as the Blue Eye, and Shark Bay, home to lemon sharks. The tour was informative and fun, and I learned so much about the local culture and history.

Another highlight was visiting Salinas, where I saw the beautiful pink- and white-hued salt pans against a mountainous backdrop and swam and floated in the salty water. It was a unique and rejuvenating experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the island.

Finally, I ended my tour with a Catamaran cruise, which was the perfect way to relax and take in the stunning views. If you’re planning a trip to Cape Verde, make sure to add these activities to your itinerary for a truly unforgettable experience!

As a travel enthusiast, I have had my fair share of airport experiences, but nothing compares to my arrival at the Sao Vincent airport in Cape Verde! Despite being the second most populous island after Santiago, I was received like a VIP.

The airport staff were very friendly and helpful, assisting me with my luggage and making me feel at home. The check-in process was quick and efficient, and before I knew it, I was on my way to explore the island, eager to discover all the wonders it had to offer.

Is Cape Verde Safe for Tourists?

Are you thinking of traveling to Cape Verde but worried about safety? Well, don’t be scared. Cape Verde is known for its safety, and tourists can attest to this fact.

In fact, people were shocked to see a clip of me and the mayor of Sal walking on the street without security. Yes, you read that right! It’s that safe.

Conclusion

Wow, what an adventure! Cape Verde is truly a hidden gem that I’m so glad I discovered. From the stunning beaches to the rich culture and delicious food, there’s something for everyone.

I highly recommend that you consider visiting Cape Verde for your next vacation. It’s a safe and beautiful destination with unique experiences and attractions that you won’t find anywhere else.
