I Explored the Most Luxurious Neighborhoods in Cape Verde

I had the pleasure of visiting the stunning islands of Cape Verde, located off the West African coast. This archipelago offers breathtaking beaches, rich history, and a vibrant culture.

During my trip, I explored some of the most luxurious neighborhoods in Cape Verde, where the rich and famous reside. Join me on this journey, as I take you on a tour of these exclusive neighborhoods and share with you my experiences.

The Neighborhoods of Cape Verde

Sal Island

Sal Island is a flat and dry island with some of the finest beaches among the other islands. The town of Santa Maria offers a range of rental apartments and investment options, with prices averaging upwards of 80k euros for a 2-bedroom up to €130,000 for a 3-bedroom apartment. This neighborhood is a favorite among foreigners in search of holiday homes, with all-year-round summer weather. The Melia resort offers some hotel and holiday property to investors who want to own an investment property that yields cash flow.

Sao Pedro, Sao Vicente

Sao Pedro is a neighborhood located on the island of Sao Vicente, just a 15-minute drive from Mindelo, the capital city. This neighborhood is divided into two parts; the right-hand side is mostly occupied by locals, while the left-hand side has luxurious villas built mostly owned by foreigners. The villas here are sitting on plots larger than 2,000 SQM, with an average price starting at 500k euros. The area is known for its stunning beaches, and I had the chance to swim with sea turtles here – an unforgettable experience!

Alto Fortim Hills

Alto Fortim Hills is one of the most luxurious and privileged neighborhoods in the entire country, located in the beautiful city of Mindelo, Sao Vicente. This neighborhood is home to former presidents, hotel owners, famous entities from all over, including soccer players, singers, and models. The neighborhood has one of the best landscapes on the island, offering an entire panoramic view of the bay of Mindelo and the city, including the hills of Monte Cara (mount face). The luxurious real estate game here is strong, with some properties exceeding the mark of 4M euros. From my hotel room in Mansa Marina, I couldn’t stop staring at the luxurious villas found here.

Palmarijo Baiso, Praia

Palmarijo Baiso is located in the city of Praia, on the island of Santiago, the largest island in the archipelago. This neighborhood is currently the capital of the Cape Verde Islands and has been developing and modernizing rapidly in several sectors, including the real estate sector. The neighborhood of Palmarijo Baiso has some of the most luxurious properties in the city, with an average price of 1M euros. The area is vibrant, tropical, and mountainous, making it more exciting than the other islands.

Conclusion

From Sal Island to Sao Pedro, Alto Fortim Hills, and Palmarijo Baiso, these neighborhoods offer breathtaking views, world-class amenities, and luxurious properties that exceed the mark of 4M euros.

Whether you’re looking to buy a holiday home, an investment property, or just curious to see what the real estate market in Cape Verde looks like, these neighborhoods are worth exploring.
